Coins
A neurotic waitress with a phobia of coins struggles with visions of the microscopic world of dirt and germs. As she fights to control her darkest fears, reality falls apart piece by piece.\n\nNicole Huminski, Director's Statement: "I hate coins. Small change.. It’s the copper, the contour, the coinage - the dirt of the world, sticking to its surface. In particular the smell. The metallic smell, which covers your fingers like a rough film and seems to sink into the fingertip. Even hearing the word, the sound of the rolling coin on a counter or seeing it on a table - it makes me feel disgusted, distracted and paranoid. With this film, I don’t only want to make this specific perception tangible, but also dive into the world of a coin. How does the world of a coin look like? How does this phobia come to its worst? A small piece of copper that has probably seen a lot - experiences from all over the world, sticking on the coin."
